Who we are
The Future Simulator is run by Superposition Technologies. It is a private research tool that people use by invitation. Questions about your data go to [email protected].
When you visit the site
We count visits on our own server, without cookies and without third-party analytics. For each page you view we record the page, the site or link that sent you (for example linkedin.com, or a campaign tag in the link), your country as reported by Cloudflare, and whether you use a phone, tablet or computer.
To count unique visitors, we combine your IP address and browser details with a random value that changes every day, and keep only a scrambled (hashed) result. We do not store your IP address for this, and we cannot recognise you from one day to the next.
Your browser also remembers which link brought you until you close the tab, in session storage rather than a cookie. If you request access, that link is sent with your request so we know which post or site you came from.
When you request access
We collect what you type into the form:
- your first and last name, work email address and LinkedIn profile address
- your organisation, job title and country
- the topics you pick, what you want to explore and how you heard about us
- the site or link that brought you, if your browser kept it (see above)
We also record the time and the IP address the request came from, to stop abuse. We email you a six-digit code to confirm the address belongs to you; we store only a scrambled (hashed) form of that code.
We use this to decide whether to invite you and to email you about your request. A person reviews every request, including opening the LinkedIn profile you give us. No decision is made automatically.
If you are invited
Your account holds your name, email address, role and a securely hashed password. We also keep:
- sign-in times and IP addresses, and a log of security events such as sign-ins and approvals
- a record of what you do in the app: when you sign in, the scenarios you run, the countries you open and the features you use, such as uncertainty ranges and government reactions
- the words you type to describe a scenario
- the scenarios you save, and how many AI requests you make (to keep within a monthly budget)
Administrators can see this record for each person. We use it to understand what analysts need, to improve the simulator and to follow up with you about how you use it. It is not shared outside Superposition Technologies.
When you describe a scenario in words, that text is sent to TypeSafe AI, which turns it into the settings of a scenario, and we keep it with your activity record. Do not type personal or confidential information into it.
Cookies
The app sets one cookie, and only after you sign in: it keeps you signed in. Cloudflare, which protects the site, may set a short-lived security cookie to tell people from bots. There are no advertising or analytics cookies: visits are counted without cookies, as described above. Apart from Cloudflare's bot check on the request form, the site loads no third-party scripts or fonts.
Who processes your data for us
Superposition Technologies runs the service itself, on its own server in India. These companies help:
- Cloudflare: delivers the site and protects it from attacks and bots
- Resend: delivers our emails, such as codes and invitations
- TypeSafe AI: interprets scenario descriptions typed by signed-in users
- Google Workspace: Superposition Technologies' email, if you write to us
We do not sell your data or share it with anyone else, and we do not use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
- requests whose email is never confirmed: deleted after 24 hours
- requests we decline: deleted 90 days after the decision
- accepted requests and accounts: kept while your account exists; ask us and we delete it
- visit counts: 13 months
- your activity record in the app, including the words you type: 13 months
- security logs: kept for as long as they are needed to protect accounts and the service
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw your consent at any time by emailing [email protected]. Depending on where you live, you may also be able to complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
If we change this notice, we update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use data you already gave us, we will tell you by email first.
